White: Contract Awarded to Rehab Moraine State Park Boat
Launch
Harrisburg – The boat-launch area of Moraine State Park will undergo extensive
improvements with the awarding of a $187,200 state contract, state Sen.
Mary Jo White (R-21) announced today.
Funded by the state Department of Conservation and Natural Resource’s
Project Stewardship program, the contract calls for the total rehabilitation
of the launch ramps in the State Park, located in Muddy Creek Township,
White said.
The work will consist of demolition of the existing pier, erosion control,
paving and the installation of new timber, the senator said. The project
will aid boating and related recreation in the park.
The contact was awarded to Gregori Construction and Engineering,
Inc. of Sarver, Pa. Work is scheduled to begin September 2 and be completed
by December 1.
White said Project Stewardship is a comprehensive investment plan
for restoring Pennsylvania’s massive state parks and forests infrastructure.
The plan is a four-year, $100 million effort using funds from park fees,
the Liquid Fuels Tax, the Oil and Gas Fund, the Keystone Recreation, Park
and Conservation Fund, Pennsylvania Conservation Corps Fund and the state’s
capital budget.
