White Announces Grant for Weaver Community Park Lighting,
Improvements
Harrisburg – State Sen. Mary Jo White (R-21) today announced the awarding
of a $50,000 state grant to help pay for the installation of ballfield
lighting and other improvements at Weaver Community Park in Clarion.
In addition the lighting, the grant will help pay for the access road
and parking area paving, landscaping, new signs and other improvements,
said White.
The total cost of the project is $113,200, and includes $63,200 in local
funds, the senator said.
The grant was awarded out of the Keystone Recreation, Park and Conservation
Fund, administered by the state Department of Conservation and Natural
Resources. The grant is part of DCNR’s Community Partnership initiative.
The initiative provides technical assistance, training and grants to
help communities conserve natural and cultural resources, provide outdoor
recreation, enhance tourism and foster community development.
