White: Pennsylvania Legislature Bills, Information Now on the
Internet
Harrisburg -- Individuals with access to the Internet can now visit
a new website to obtain information about the Pennsylvania Legislature,
including updates on pending legislation, according to state Sen. Mary
Jo White (R-21).
White said a 1998 law allowed for greater public access to legislative
information, via the World Wide Web. The site,
www.legis.state.pa.us,
includes a calendar of legislative session days, committee meeting schedules,
the text of bills, and a search index to locate legislation.
"Public access to this information is long overdue," White said. "By
accessing this site, constituents will be better informed about what is
happening in Harrisburg."
The site also contains information on Pennsylvania history and a guide
to state government.
White added that she maintains a separate website at
www.libertynet.org/mjw.
Constituents can access links to state government sites and a guide
to the senator’s constituent services.
