White: Funds on the Way for Pearson Park Renovation
Harrisburg – The state is releasing the first installment of grant funds to help pay for the renovation of Pearson Park in Neshannock Township, Sen. Mary Jo White (R-21) said today.
White said the $12,500 check represents the initial payment of a $50,000 grant from the Keystone Recreation, Park and Conservation Fund.
The grant will help pay for the $100,000 renovation of the park’s tennis courts, she said. The work will include the reconstruction of tennis courts and the installation of fencing, landscaping, signs and access for disabled citizens.
The fund is administered by the state Department of Conservation and Natural Resources as part of its Community Conservation Partnership initiative.
White said the initiative provides technical assistance, training and grants to help communities conserve natural and cultural resources, provide outdoor recreation, enhance tourism and foster community development.
