White: New Website Helps Students Prepare for Postsecondary Education
Harrisburg -- The Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency has launched a new website to help students prepare for and apply to postsecondary schools in Pennsylvania, according to Sen. Mary Jo White (R-21).
White said the PHEAAmentor website, at
www.pheaamentor.org, is an interactive site designed primarily for students preparing for college. Visitors can search for a Pennsylvania college; submit applications on-line; apply for financial aid; or submit questions about colleges, universities and the admissions process.
Students can also use the site to conduct scholarship searches. They can even take "virtual campus tours" via computer to give them a better feel of the institutions they are interested in, White said.
White added that PHEAAmentor also offers a career center, where visitors can explore occupations and find links to other sites related to their interests.
Students applying to graduate schools or planning to transfer to a new institution should also consider PHEAAmentor a good first stop, White added.
