White Announces $100,000 Venango Regional Airport Grant

Harrisburg – State Sen. Mary Jo White (R-21) today announced the awarding of a $100,000 state grant to help fund a capital improvement project at Venango Regional Airport.

The grant will be used to help pay for refurbishing Hangar Number 6 at the facility, White said.

“Venango Regional Airport is a key part of our transportation system and maintaining its facilities is very important,” said White.  “Capital improvements like this demonstrate the airport’s dedication to service and safety.” 

White recently met with U.S. Sen. Rick Santorum to discuss ways to ensure the economic health of Venango and other regional airports. 

The Act 47 Capital Budget grant was awarded by the state Department of Transportation.  Airport capital projects are supported by local, state and federal funds.
