White Announces State Grant for Farmington Waste Inspector
Harrisburg
– State Sen. Mary Jo White (R-21) today announced the awarding of a $5,900
state environmental protection grant to Farmington Township.
The Host Municipal Inspector grant covers 50 percent
of cost for a host municipality to employ a certified inspector for landfill or
resource recovery facility.
“As a host of a waste management
site, Farmington Township is faced with special challenges and costs,” said
White. “This grant will help the township carry out the necessary inspections,
with state funds assisting the township in meeting state regulations.”
The Host Municipal Inspector Grant
Program of Act 101 of 1988 is administered by the state Department of
Environmental Protection.
