Lynch, Scarnati and White Announce $729,813 in
Economic Development Grants for Warren and Forest Counties
WARREN – Rep. Jim Lynch (R-Warren County), Senator Joe Scarnati
(R-Warren County) and Senator Mary Jo White (R-Forest County) announced
today that both Warren and Forest Counties were recently awarded two
grants from the Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED)
amounting to approximately $729,813.
The first grant totaling $295,652 will be used by Warren County to
support the planning and development for a newly constructed eight unit
housing project for individuals with chronic illness. The second grant
totaling $434,161 was awarded to Warren-Forest Counties EOC which works
to minimize the adverse effects of high-energy costs on low-income
families.
"Both of these substantial grants will be put to good use improving
the lives of the less fortunate in our communities," Lynch said. "I
applaud both Warren County and Warren-Forest Counties EOC for applying
for these grants. By working together and responsibly combining our
resources, we are extending helping hands that will reap long-term
benefits across our entire region."
"These grants will serve as a beacon of hope to many," said Scarnati.
"With these funds we will provide homes to the sick while providing
energy assistance to low income families. It makes all the hard work
worth it when I see that I have helped the people in my district who
need it most."
"I am pleased anytime we are able to secure much needed funds for
Warren and Forest counties," said White. "These grants will ensure that
citizens in need have access to affordable housing. Today's announcement
demonstrates the success of two counties working together to improve our
community."
