White Announces $7 Million to Redevelop
Former Pullman Center in Butler
Harrisburg – State Sen. Mary Jo White
(R-21) today announced the approval of $7 million in state
aid to convert the former Pullman Center in Butler Township
into an office and light manufacturing business park.
White said the funding comes in the
form of a $4 million loan and $3 million grant, and will be
used for building rehabilitation, demolition, streets,
infrastructure, engineering and architecture.
"This assistance will help the
Community Development Corporation of Butler County realize
its goal of turning this land into productive property. It's
expected that 350 jobs will be created by revitalizing the
site," said White.
The CDC has agreements with eight
businesses that plan to relocate in the new business park,
located on 42.5 acres along Route 8 and the Pennsylvania
Turnpike.
The funding was approved by the
Commonwealth Financing Authority, created by the legislature
in 2004 to fund up to $1 billion in economic development
initiatives across Pennsylvania.
