Senate Environmental Resources and Energy Committee to be
Briefed on Marcellus Shale Safety Issues
Harrisburg – The Senate Environmental Resources and Energy Committee, chaired
by Sen. Mary Jo White (R-21), will meet next week for a briefing on Marcellus
Shale safety issues.
The briefing will be held Wednesday, June 16 at 10 a.m. in the Senate
Majority Caucus Room (Room 156 of the Main Capitol).
Department of Environmental Protection Secretary John Hanger and a
representative of the Marcellus Shale Coalition are expected to brief committee
members and respond to questions regarding recent events associated with natural
gas development in the Commonwealth.
