Committee Unanimously Supports Krancer Nomination for DEP
Secretary
Harrisburg – The Senate Environmental Resources and Energy Committee, chaired
by Sen. Mary Jo White (R-21), today unanimously recommended Senate confirmation
of Michael Krancer as Secretary of the Department of Environmental Protection.
Krancer, of Delaware County, has served as judge of the Environmental Hearing
Board under both Republican and Democratic governors before being nominated by
Gov. Tom Corbett.
"Pennsylvania faces a host of challenges, and opportunities, in the area of
environmental protection and energy, and I believe Michael Krancer will bring to
the job a depth of knowledge and a temperament that is widely respected in the
field," said White. "I urge my colleagues to support this nomination when it
comes before the full Senate."
Before becoming a judge, Krancer was a litigation partner at the Dilworth and
Blank Rome law firms in Philadelphia. He also served as Assistant General
Counsel for the Exelon Corporation in June 2008.
Video and testimony from the hearing is posted on the Senate Environmental
Resources and Energy Committee's web page at
